Why connect HS, SITC, BEC, NAICS and SIC codes?

Most importers, exporters and analysts juggle multiple code systems – HS on customs declarations, NAICS or SIC in internal reporting, and sometimes BEC for macro analysis. The Code Correlation Toolkit gives you a single interface to translate between them and explain what those mappings mean.

Classification made clearer

Use the Universal Code Converter and natural language finder to standardise codes across teams.

  • Check HS ↔ SITC ↔ BEC relationships
  • Explain mappings in plain language
  • Reduce manual VLOOKUPs and guesswork

Stronger analytics & BI

Enrich bulk HS or NAICS files and feed them into your BI dashboards.

  • Segment by industry (NAICS / SIC)
  • Split flows by BEC end-use category
  • Compare product coverage across markets

Better decisions for trade teams

See where your trade sits in the wider economy and supply chain.

  • Understand which industries your HS codes touch
  • Identify expansion gaps using the overlap tool
  • Explore hierarchies to find related products

FAQ – Code Correlation Toolkit

Where do the correlations come from?

The toolkit is designed to work with official or semi-official HS–SITC–BEC tables plus NAICS–SIC mappings. You can plug in your own correlation tables or use versions supplied by your organisation or data provider.

Does this replace official HS classification?

No. The HS code on your customs declaration is still your legal responsibility. This toolkit supports analysis, planning and internal reporting; it does not replace official customs guidance or rulings.

Can I upload large files?

The Bulk Code Enricher is designed for CSV and Excel files. In a production setup, it would be backed by a server-side process that can handle large datasets and output enriched files ready for your ERP, TMS or BI tools.

Can you integrate this with a trade data API?

Yes. The same correlation logic can be exposed via API and combined with shipment-level information, so you can see both who traded what and how that maps into industries and BEC categories.
